Job Overview:
As Roadway Senior Engineer, you will work on a variety of civil infrastructure projects, mainly large-scale Design&Build projects across the United States for either the bidding and the construction phases. You will perform a wide range of civil-design-related tasks and collaborate with other professional peers who will coordinate with you or work under your supervision.
You will have the opportunity to learn the company’s standards for roadway design and develop expertise in roadway design managerial processes. Under the supervision and mentoring of Ferrovial Construction US Design Department, you will receive the technical support and resources needed to advance your career by participating in large-scale projects within a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Perform roadway design on complex highway D&B and PPP projects, both during the tender and detail design stages of the procurement process.
- Coordinate the design works with a team of design consultants, performing design supervision and reviews on designs performed by consultants to Ferrovial.
- Coordinate all aspects of roadway design with the other discipline managers: Geotech, drainage, structures, MEP, and environmental.
- Manage of internal roadway design team to self-perform design activities on specific project, ensuring accountability for design development and quality control for the self-performing design process.
- Prepare in-house preliminary designs to provide cost-effective solutions and value engineering.
- Supervise the preparation of design packages and reports ensuring the project schedule and budget are met. Development of design specifications.
- Responsible for the preparation of roadway quantities on tenders, supervising and reviewing the BOQ prepare by the design consultants, and internal developing complementary quantities for critical elements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, obtained from an accredited US College or University.
- Master's Degree in Transportation Engineering is a plus.
- 7+ years of experience in roadway design.
- Experience with Bentley MicroStation software. Skilled in using the Open Road Designer is a must.
- Attention to detail with data collection, data management, and record-keeping.
- Ability to read and interpret construction documents, drawings, and specifications.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work on teams in a fast-track environment and interface with Clients, Designers, and the Construction teams.

Heathrow H7 Project
Our H7 framework spans from airfield works (taxiways, runways, stands), to civils (roads, demolition works, underground and above ground structures), and MEP packages (services tunnels, lifts, life safety systems, fuel/fire mains).
Key Responsibilities:
- Carrying out internal and external quality audits.
- Carrying out site inspections to make sure works comply with quality, regulatory and employer’s requirements while preparing reports with a high standard and recording Non conformities and snags.
- Oversee site inspections and tests to ensure they are carried out in line with the inspection and test plans and all documentation is produced in a timely manner.
- Oversee the works of subcontracted laboratories to ensure it is carried out according to the standards, in a timely manner and raise any nonconformances detected to the quality advisor/manager.
- Ensuring the Project(s) quality management plan is fully and correctly implemented.
- Ensuring project NCRs are raised and tracked/progressed by Initiators, ensuring corrective actions are taken and NCRs are closed.
- Ensuring the delivery of necessary quality paperwork required for each type of works.
- Ensuring ensure that Material Approval Procedure is followed by the Site Team,
- Promoting a right first time /continuous improvement culture across site team,
- Assisting the Quality Manager and coordinate the commissioning process for M&E works,
- Assisting Handover Manager in handover process and act as Compiler and Reviewer and Tracker of inspection and testing documentation, and handover documents required for progressive handover.
- Digitizing quality processes in the Common Data Environments.
- Performing Quality Inductions, Workshop, Quality Circles, Lessons learnt implementation and workshops, Briefings and / or other relevant forums and events to ensure the compliance of the QA/QC management plan.
- Maintaining Quality Registers.
- Maintaining Calibration Registers.
- Assist the quality manager in his duties.

Position Description
Qualified CAD Technician for performing drafting work and be the project’s Projectwise Administrator.
Responsibilities
- Prepares layouts, drawings, and designs from detailed sketches and/or drawings made by technicians, designers or technical professional, converting paper documents into digital files.
- Administers and maintains the CAD Management Plan including modifications of workspaces, preference files, plot drivers, etc. if needed
- Performs advanced design visualization exhibits from multiple 3d design models.
- Develops processes and techniques for rapid 3D visualization of design concepts
- Develops graphic exhibits as needed for meetings with TxDOT and other stakeholders.
- Calculates quantities if needed.
- Reviews work provided by others for drafting errors
- Projectwise Administrator duties including among others, granting and revoking access, modification of folder structure to meet operational goals, Projectwise technical support in for internal and external consultants, etc
- Manage consultants and ensuring work is completed on time and up to standard of quality
- Training personnel in Projectwise and other Bentley products as needed.
- Close coordination with Document Controller Mangers.
Qualifications
- Associated Degree in engineering technology or similar
- At least five years’ experience with Bentley Microstation and Power Geopak, software for plan production.
- OpenRoads Designer experience preferred.
- Experience in ProjectWise required.
- Individual shall be proficient in manipulating drawings, plotting, using reference files and utilizing surveying files (ortho photos, DTM, etc.)
- Advanced and specialized drafting
- Reviewing and revising documents to include engineering notes, specifications, standards and procedures in drafting plans and in preparation of plans, specifications and estimates
- Technical training in drafting may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis
