Are you passionate about driving project success and fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation within a dynamic environment? Webber, an industry leader in construction and infrastructure, is seeking a dynamic Fixed Asset and Lease Accountant to join our team.
Your Role: Driving excellence through technical expertise and innovation
The Fixed Asset and Lease Accountant is responsible for maintaining and tracking equipment registers for fixed assets and leases, as well as managing the cash application process for third-party collections across the entire Infrastructure Management division. This role collaborates closely with the equipment department, operational accounting team, and third-party coordinators. Key responsibilities include preparing quarterly IFRS 16 reports and conducting monthly analyses of third-party activities. The position is based in The Woodlands, TX, and reports to the Operational Accounting Manager for the Infrastructure Division.
What You Will Do:

Responsible for the creation, transfer, and disposal of company fixed assets.

Track all equipment leases and modifications to support quarterly IFRS 16 reporting.

Process monthly lease invoices and ensure accurate reallocation to projects.

Monitor capital expenditure (CAPEX) actuals in relation to forecasted projections.
-
Collect, record, and deposit third-party checks on a weekly basis.
-
Reconcile all cash collections related to third-party incidents.
-
Review and process third-party write offs prior to month end close.
-
Prepare population reports to support SOX control requirements.
-
Maintain regular communication with the Fleet Procurement Manager and provide support to the equipment department.

Collaborate with the Operations Accounting team to develop new reports analyzing third-party trends.

Assist the Operational Accounting team with non-third-party cash application tasks during month-end close.

Perform additional duties as assigned.
Who You Are: A Profile of Success

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is preferred

Prior experience with accounting / accounts receivable recommended

Excellent analytical, organizational, and multi-tasking abilities

Strong communication skills

Flexible attitude and ability to work in a team

Mastery knowledge of MS Excel

Working knowledge of MS Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Working knowledge of SAP

The employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time and occasionally stand and/or walk for short periods of time.

Vision abilities include close and distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.

Your Role: Driving excellence through technical expertise and innovation
The Operations Accountant is part of the Accounting Department and is responsible for the detailed evaluation of project contracts and related documents. In reviewing these documents, the Operations Accountant will identify risk and exposure and then communicate these items to appropriate levels within the organization.
What You Will Do:

Analyze project documents and develop reports for heavy civil construction projects

Write accruals and deferrals sharing this information with project managers and the Finance team

Verify that the quantities claimed match the owner's estimate

Deeply analyze budgets and job costs and provide Project Managers of items left behind budget and areas of risk

Review, audit, and make suggestions related to job costs during the bi-annual Budget Revision cycle

Prepare financial reports from multiple data points for use by the management team and external parties

Assist in the development of regular periodic budgets which help Webber to prepare for long-term strategic plans

Create, review, share, and respond to periodic reports including weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis

Generate ad-hoc payroll reports as requested

Log and report information by inputting information into Microsoft Excel. Create documents in Microsoft Word

Maintain an organized work area, filing system, E-mail inbox, and to-do list ensuring that goals and activities are completed on time

Who You Are: A Profile of Success

Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance

Construction related work experience will be a plus

High level of proficiency in operating MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Access and MS PowerPoint

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Full understanding of Construction Math concepts
