Your Role: Driving excellence through technical expertise and innovation 

The Project Controls Specialist supports solar energy construction projects by developing detailed schedules, maintaining construction document control, and coordinating project execution activities. This role contributes to digital tool implementation, information management, and standardized procedures across business units, ensuring projects stay on track and aligned with established processes. It requires strong technical skills, construction knowledge, and the ability to collaborate across project teams. 

 

 

What You Will Do: 

Scheduling: 

  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules for solar energy construction projects. 

  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information for schedule creation. 

  • Monitor project progress and update schedules accordingly to reflect changes and delays. 

  • Identify potential scheduling conflicts and propose solutions to mitigate risks. 

  • Ensure that all project milestones and deadlines are met. 

  • Communicate schedule updates and changes to all relevant parties. 

  • Prepare regular reports on project status and schedule adherence. 

  • Utilize scheduling software and tools to manage and track project timelines. 

  • Assist in resource allocation and management to optimize project efficiency. 

  • Maintain documentation and records related to project schedules 

Document Control: 

  • Implementing construction document control processes; providing system reports; and administering access and permissions of users into document control systems. 

  • Maintain control of electronic and hard copy construction project documents, including proper naming conventions, scanning and uploading files to proper folders in accordance with document management procedures. 

  • Develop and Maintain a Document Control Manual to ensure the latest updates and guidelines are accurately reflected. 

Project Controls: 

  • Support various digital tools and processes being used in the company and help with data management tasks for regional and corporate operations. 

  • Assist with implementation of digital procedures, tools and platforms by actively contributing during the design, execution and implementation (go-live) phase, making sure standardization is achieved at the different projects. 

  • Support project execution through active coordination, tracking changes, monitoring progress with respect to the schedule and providing feedback. 

  • Support the development of creative reporting tools to communicate project status and other summary reports to all levels of project and Company management as well as to the Client. 

  • Facilitate management of information through different phases of construction from estimating to execution to close out, ensuring efficient collaboration with the resources for each of the projects so that the implementation is consistent and standardized for within each business unit. 

  • Support the development of information management procedures and implementation of a single platform for project information management. 

  • Assist in development of best practices related to work procedures, information management, and project control processes and ensure they are being used at the ground level. 

  • Assist in creating new forms, templates, checklists, workflows and managing existing ones, in various company systems like Heavy Job, Procore, Office 365 that are in accordance with business operation needs. 

  • Perform troubleshooting and support existing systems and assist in creating new forms, templates for different projects and business units across the company aligning with their requirements. 

  • Support in development and maintenance of Tool Manuals, Document Control Procedures, "How -To" guidelines to ensure the latest updates and guidelines are accurately reflected. 

 

 

Who You Are: A Profile of Succes 

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field. 

  • Certification in project management or scheduling (e.g., PMP, PMI-SP) 

  • Experience in renewable energy or solar energy construction projects. 

  • Strong understanding of construction processes, timelines, and best practices. 

  • Experience with construction technology and data systems (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Heavy Job, Procore, Budgeting and Forecasting tools, Enterprise Document Storage Software, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint). 

  • Work is primarily conducted in an office setting, with some field visits as necessary

The role

Ferrovial Construction is looking for a Project Controls Engineer to support on infrastructure projects in the Heathrow airport.

Heathrow Airport

Ferrovial Construction has been working at Heathrow Airport for over 12 years delivering some of the most complex infrastructure projects to high quality, safety and environmental standards. We have focused on design and build projects with a mix of contractual arrangements. This has enabled us to refine our management procedures in response to Heathrow’s Employers Requirements and Ferrovial Construction own internal management systems.

Since joining Heathrow’s framework in 2008, Ferrovial Construction has delivered a variety of airside and landside projects across the whole airport. For example, we have delivered new taxiways and rehabilitated existing taxiways and the southern runway. We have also redeveloped sterile and grass areas and replaced critical assets, such as fire main, fuel main and HV ducts. We are currently working alongside Heathrow to rehabilitate assets with expired design life’s and plan for a future runway resurfacing project. We are constantly designing and planning our works around critical assets and engaging with different key stakeholders in order to deliver Heathrow value for money.

Descripción del rol:

Ferrovial Construcción, precisa incorporar en su Dirección de Ferrocarriles y Obra Civil Centro un Tecnico/a de Control de Proyectos.

Funciones:

•    Dar soporte a la Dirección de Zona en el análisis de la información financiera generada por los proyectos para la toma de decisiones, con espíritu crítico y base razonada, en coordinación permanente con el Project Controls Officer de la Dirección y los diferentes equipos de obra.
•    Colaborar con el Project Controls Officer para la obtención de datos veraces para el seguimiento de los proyectos, fomentando las relaciones con las distintos centros de trabajo y todos los departamentos (Financiero, Legal, Oficina Técnica, Contract Management…).
•    Comprender y aplicar terminología de ingeniería, construcción y de gestión administrativa.
•    Conocimiento del funcionamiento de Uniones Temporales de Empresas (UTES)
•    Asegurar el cumplimiento de las diferentes normativas internas, especialmente la relativa al reconocimiento de ingresos (máster, cierres mensuales, análisis de desviaciones, control de expedientes y órdenes de cambio).
•    Análisis y seguimiento de las planificaciones técnicas de los proyectos y sus caminos críticos, verificando el cumplimiento del plazo y los hitos contractuales.
•    Análisis de los presupuestos maestros y la planificaciones económicas de los proyectos de la Dirección, su evolución, desviaciones y concordancia con la planificación técnica
•    Garantizar la aplicación de una metodología de gestión de Riesgos y Oportunidades de los proyectos, así como sobre posibles medidas de mitigación.
•    Garantizar el correcto reporte periódico de los datos financieros y otros indicadores requeridos.
•    Analizar las desviaciones de los estados financieros de los proyectos en relación con el presupuesto (máster), especialmente las relativas a los costes reales.
•    Realizar análisis críticos relevantes del coste a final de proyecto sobre la base de la información disponible durante su ejecución.
•    Dar feedback a los proyectos cuando se identifiquen divergencias que impacten en el presupuesto o en el plazo.
•    Colaborar en la elaboración de registro de eventos y reclamaciones contractuales, y su seguimiento.
•    Asegurar el cumplimiento de los requerimientos SOX y la normativa contable interna, especialmente en lo relativo al registro y revisión de evidencias y soportes.
•    Asegurar el cumplimiento de los procedimientos operativos OPIP en la Dirección, en colaboración con los diferentes equipos de obra.
•    Contribuir a la adopción de herramientas digitales dentro de la Dirección.
•    Desarrollar e implementar herramientas estándares de control y seguimiento que aporten valor de análisis (Power BI,…).
Requisitos:

-Formación: Preferiblemente técnica y financiera en proyectos de infraestructura

-Experiencia: Más de 5 años de experiencia en obra en puestos de producción, gestión, control y análisis económico.

-Valorable:

Alto nivel de inglés

Conocimiento de los procedimientos de control y análisis internos de Ferrovial.

-Otros requisitos:
•    Disponibilidad para viajar a nivel nacional.
•    Habilidad en el manejo de herramientas digitales.
