Who We Are
We specialize in designing construction solutions for post-tensioning, tensioning and cable-stayed structures. We also specialize in lifting and moving heavy loads and in acoustical engineering for infrastructure and singular building projects.
When it comes to projects, we work on large teams, carrying out activities that are complementary to the construction work. We have also developed (by means of our R&D&I efforts) our own work methods, which have been audited by the Unidad de Evaluación Técnica de Productos Innovadores del CSIC.
Implementation of ISO 9001:2000 standard forms part of our company’s DNA, which is why we actively participate to create the regulation and make technical recommendations, both domestically (ACHE, Spanish Association for Structural Engineering) and internationally (European Committee for Standardization). We also form part of organizations such as AENOR, ANIPAR, Comité Técnico de la Carretera (Technical Road Committee), IABSE and FIB, among others.
Experts in Post-Tensioned Concrete
Our success is mainly thanks to our highly specialized personnel. Our team of engineers and technicians are the most experienced in the sector. We have had our own manufacturing resources since 1956, which gives us a huge advantage when it comes to developing solutions t that are custom-fit our client’s needs.
History of Tecpresa
Tecpresa started as Procedimientos Barredo in 1957, a pioneer in post-tensioning activities in Spain, especially in post-tensioned concrete, formworks to launch beams, moorings and reinforced concrete. At that time we already provided services to large construction companies such as Helma (a Greek construction company) for works such as the bridge over the Cijara river, which was turned into a reservoir just one year later.
That same year, Procedimiento Barredo was mentioned in one of the publications of the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (Spanish National Research Council) (CSIC) about prefabricated beams. Throughout the years, the company frequently edited technical books and collaborated with specialized magazines.
In April 2002, the company became Tecpresa with the objective of executing all non-residential technical construction processes (hiring, management, projection and construction). Ever since then, we have become a leader in post-tensioning, cables, and launching viaducts.
